Well I have a new camera just in time for our vacation and of course I had to take some new pics of CoCo. She is so looking forward to nice outside weather again. Hope everyone has a nice Easter. I need to check with Tombow on when I can post the layouts I did for their guest call.

It was great to use their new products and I thank them for sending the StampRunner products to me.

Well I promised myself (even if I am the only one reading it) that I would blog more often. I am off to get a haircut and debating on stopping into this Bead show at the local fire hall. Not sure what I want to accomplish by going by may stop in for some inspiration.
Then home to work on some Valentine's day cards etc. I am in the scrappy mood. That is what a cold, rainy day can do for me.

Here is the specifics on Webster Pages Design Team Call:

Webster’s Pages is pleased to announce their first open design team call!

We are looking for paper crafters that 1) love working with Webster’s Pages products, 2) are looking for an opportunity to be involved in both creating paper crafts as well as sharing their enthusiasm for Webster’s Pages on InspireME, Facebook, and other online outlets, 3) enjoy helping to inspire other paper crafters with beautiful and unique projects.

We will be looking for members to be on our team that uses traditional products as well as looking for members for our first Digital Design Team. The Digital Design team will work exclusively with our digital products. Paper crafters that consider themselves “hybrid” paper crafters and use both traditional supplies as well as digital images, should apply for the “traditional” team but mention they are hybrid paper crafters. Those applying specifically for the digital team should mention this. The application requirements for both teams are the same.

International designers are welcome to apply to both teams.

Specific requirements and compensation details are provided upon invitation to the team. However we would like to mention that regular creation of projects and online participation are requirements for this team, and compensation is provided through a generous amount of product as well as monetary compensation for hard copy published items and trade show/advertising assignments. The term will be until the end of 2011.

Please note that Webster’s Pages Design Team members will be limited to being on no more than 3 paper manufacturing teams total.

We are envisioning a team of 15 members with 3 exclusively on our digital team.

To apply send an email to wpdt@websterspages.com with the following information:

Provide a one or two paragraph biographical statement telling us a little bit about you and your scrapbook experience including any publication history, design team experience, teaching experience (in stores and/or online), etc.

Explain in one paragraph why you would be a great addition to the Webster’s Pages design team.

Include a link to any online galleries (you participate on (please include your user name and make sure that online galleries do not have a login requirement) and your blog (if you have one).

Attach a scan or photograph of 3 paper craft projects that you feel best represent your style. Please make sure you include 1 scrapbook page, 1 card or altered item/home decor project, and the 3rd project can be a scrapbook page, card or altered item/home decor project. Images must be no larger than 600 x 600 px. We do ask that if possible you use Webster’s Pages products on these 3 projects in order for us to get a sense of how you would work with our style of products.

Please include your name, address, phone number and email address. Confirmation emails will NOT be sent. Notifications will be made by email or telephone in January.

Applications must be received by December 31st.

Thanks GlueArts for Booing me yesterday. Hoping for a "sweet" prize.

Here is what has been keeping us busy the last few months. Our new puppy CoCo. She is a miniature retreiver (www.miniatureretreiver.com) which is part flat coated retreiver and american cocker spaniel. Note the cocker spaniel ears and smooth coat on the rest of her body. She will only get about 20ish" tall and about 35lbs. She is such a sweetie, smart, cute and sleeps all night (we love that). She has learned to ring the bell at the door to go potty, sit, down, roll over, kisses, shake, sit up. We are working on attention and coming when we call her. Those are the tough ones.

Post Vacation

Well we have been back from vacation a week and I miss Key West already. So gorgeous there but hurricanes scare me so I am not sure I would want to live there all the time. Fun, fun place though!!

Easter is tomorrow and I have a couple of Easter cards to do for my grown boys (hubby and 2 sons). Also I get to do the menu/grocery shopping this year so I am working on that right now. I am thinking of trying a potato salad receipe from Bobbie Flay.

Well the CHA show starts today in CA and I so wish I was in the industry in some way that I could go. I hear the CA one is unreal. I went to the summer one in Chicago once as part of an online stores team and I was blown away so I can only imagine what CA would be like. Maybe someday! I guess I need to get my scrapbooking noticed and break out of my clean and classic mold to do that, who knows. I just know that I "heart" scrapbooking and wish that I was in the industry. Maybe if my job goes into the tank (which could be shortly), I will find something to do for someone and who knows.
So today is a quick layout for my niece's graduation last summer then I am off to Michaels to spend that gift card that is burning a hole in my pocketbook. They are having a sale so I will get more for my money. Good logic huh?!
Hopefully it won't be too cold out.

Sad News for Christmas

The Saturday before Christmas in the midst of the biggest snowstorm in years, our sweet 18 yr old cat, Penny finally succumbed to old age or sickness we aren't sure which. She was failing in weight and listless and since the storm was immense, we didn't want to risk our lives to have her pass away in a cold, ER pet hospital so we just kept her comfortable all day long in her favorite place in front of the fireplace and we said our goodbye's and told her we loved her and will miss her terribly. I had never had a cat before but I have known others and I can unbiasedly tell you that Penny was the sweetest most affectionate, lap sitting cat I have ever known.
She was my cat mostly but we all loved her and I will miss her more than any pet I have ever had.

Wow I haven't posted since September, so sorry to those couple that might read my blog. I know there aren't many.

Hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I hosted this year and though we only had 10 for dinner and a few more for desert, it was enjoyable, stressful, funny and great to spend time with the family. Today is all about spending it at home doing whatever we want. No Black Friday shopping for me, I have done it before but so not in the holiday mood. This year has been very hard and stressful for me.

I won't bore you with the details but my Thanksgiving wish is for everyone's happiness, safety and job security.

Off to clean my scrapbook room table and spend the rest of the day munching and playing with scrappy goodness. I do have plenty of that in my room.

So you know how challenged I am with doing cards or if you don't I am. Something about going from 12x12 layouts to a small 4x6 card just intimidates me. So I do look for sketches to help me. CPS is always a great place for me to look. We have a Graduation Party to go to for our nephew. Guess they wanted to wait until the end of the summer to do his H.S. grad party. Sorry to not have been on in so long. I won't go into how work is, too depressing. So we have had rain, rain and more rain. I think this is the rainiest June ever! It is Saturday and has been raining off and on all day so scrapbooking seemed like the thing to do today. Even my papers feel damp! Here is the latest from Webster Pages. This collection is a bit more floraly (is that a word?) in regard to some of the papers but I oh so love the majority of them. Then again, my daughter is not the extremely girly fluffy type even at 26 she is a jeans, tank tops and flip flops girl with an occasional stilleto thrown in. Happy Inauguration Day!

I wish that I could have stayed home to watch all the events but work came first. Though not a single order today. I wonder how long I will be there. Hard working for a company of two people and the other person is the CEO. Guess who will go first.

Well we got our first snow on Sun/Mon. that amounted to maybe an 1/2" but it was snow and I was glad to see a little bit of it.

Anyway, I am loving all the peeks that I have been seeing on the boards from Pink Paislee, Teresa Collins, Scenic Route and MM.
I so wish that I was going to CHA this winter. Have always wanted to go to California. It is on the bucket list for sure.

I want to do something special since I am so down in the dumps about work and am thinking giving away something {heart} related will make me feel better.

Well a New Year and a New Car!

I picked up my new Kia Sportage yesterday. It is so much bigger than my previous car and I am excited to learn how to drive/park this car. I am hoping by having a bigger car that I will get back into local crops and enjoy/use more of my scrap supplies this year. I don't think I have been to a crop (except online) since 2006 or 2007. See I can't even remember.

Per my Scrap-A-Latte blog challenge I am to blog my New Years Resolutions. These are going to be different than previous years.
1. Blog more often and visits friends blogs as frequently
2. Be creative at least once a week
3. Love my family more this year and keep in touch more (losing a family member does this to you)
4. Clean more often
5. Work harder at my job to get more sales for our small company
6. Exercise (yes I know this one is from before but I need to)
7. Keep my new car clean
8. Budget, watch my expenses and at all costs do not use credit card
9. In regard to the above, post items on ebay for sale to help with budget
10. I had to make it an even 10 so this one is to make 1 new card a month
Seems like alot but I think if I do 1/2 of them I will be doing good.

Okay time to ring out the really bad 2008 and celebrate a new year. I really, really hope 2009 is a better year for my family and for everyone.

One of my New Year's scrapping resolutions is to blog more often, post more layouts on my blog and pop into friends and mfg. blogs also. I want to create more things and feel that is attainable now that I have a wonderful new room to do it in. The IKEA wall shelving unit (for my birthday) has been put up and I will take a picture to show everyone sometime today.

We are in the negotiations to purchase a new car for me so youngest son can have my old car since he is in college now and next semester classes are such that dropping him off/p.u. are inconvenient. He was asked by the Photo 101 professor to be her assistant next semester so I hope he is motivated more in 2009 also.

Well enough for today. Have a wonderful New Years Day and a scrappy day!

Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season. We got through the major holidays, remembered Pop warmly, and enjoyed family completely.

The boys had a great Christmas eventhough we didn't do as much as usual (DH always thinks we spend too much) but I am sure that I didn't. Heather enjoyed her own place for Christmas and I haven't even had a chance to stop over and see her tree that her grandmother gave her. Prelit artificial tree works great for Heather.

I did get the coveted large photo printer and a portable GPS. Hoping to purchase the new car this week I think. So I think I had a great Christmas. My family is way too generous to me.

We enjoyed our usual Christmas Eve tradition of snacks, eggnog and Christmas trivia game we always play. The usual Christmas Eve pj's were given too (though the kids are 26, 21 & 19) I still get them the pjs. They joke about it but I think they would miss it if I didn't.

Hope all my scrappy friends had a wonderful holiday and best wishes for the New Year. Please let it be a better one. More on New Years resolutions later, lol!

Finally a new layout done!

It took a challenge on PsgeMaps Blog (www.pagemaps.com/blog.php) to get me to finally get into my scrapbook room and be creative. With Pop passing and Thanksgiving and my 50th birthday, November was a very hard month. The best parts of my birthday were the surprise party my daughter and my mother through for me along with all my friends and family and the new bookcase that I got from IKEA for my scrapbook room. I think cleaning up and organizing my room (which meant actually now being able to see my table and work on it) has helped me to get this layout done. I hope you enjoy it.

The News You Never Wish To Write

Well this is the post I never really wanted to write but on Tues my stepdad (but a real dad to me and my sister) lost his battle with the lung/brain cancer that he struggled with since July. We were so very blessed to have Hospice take him into their beautiful center in Milford DE on Sun evening because I don't think my Mother (or any of us) could have handled it if he had passed away at home. We tried to our best to care for him but we are comforted that he suffers no more.
I fear I will be absent for a bit longer but I will return soon. Please bear with me as we get through this week and the upcoming holidays and maybe the New Year will give us new life.
Thank you for all the gals that have cared/prayed for me and my family. We do sincerely appreciate it.
May God keep you all in his thoughts.

Been Car Shopping Lately?

Oh man, what a chore and I am so very confused. Another weekend of car shopping. I have no idea what I want so that makes it even harder. Up for testing driving this weekend are the Nissan Versa, Toyota Matrix, Mazda 6 hatchback, Kia Spectra 5. Any thoughts?? Andrew now has his license and we need to get another car so I can give him my old one. I would much rather be scrapbooking and if the weather proves to be rainy and windy that is probably what I will be doing.
I desperately need to start on some holiday gifts so we shall see. Plus I want to work on my idea for Christmas cards this year.
Almost 6 wks until the Birthday D-Day. I really don't want this birthday. I don't want to move to the next number after 49. So the push is on to lose some weight and exercise until D-Day. Wish me luck.

Since I can't eat any of that good Halloween candy this year (not on the diet) tell me what your favorite candy is so I can dream of it instead of eating it??

What a beautiful day it is. Poor Andrew didn't pass his drivers test on Tues. He didn't do well enough on the parallel parking which he seems to nail everytime for his Dad. Nervous I guess. He seems to be doing well in college and liking it. Though I do still need to remind him to do his work. He takes it again on Friday so say a little prayer for him.

My Dad has been very tired from the cancer and the pneumonia that he got also. He had a CAT scan on Tues and has a dr. appt. on Thurs. with the test results. I don't expect a miracle, I just don't want him to be worse. It is just so hard to handle this far enough away that I can't just jump in the car and visit. We will be doing a big birthday party for him the end of this month.

DH is doing the Bike to the Bay which benefits MS I believe. He will be biking 75 miles on the 27th of this month. He has been steadily biking for the past month and where we live is very hilly so the Bike to the Bay is pretty much flat and straight so he thinks that he will be fine.

We still haven't heard anything about his job and the new position he applied for. They say by the end of the month and I just want this to be over with one way or another. The suspense is driving me crazy.

Don't forget to drop into two of my favorite scrapbooking board sites, www.scrap-a-latte.net and www.stoneaccentsstudio.com. One is a paper site and the other a digital scrapbooking site. I love them both.

Good news I had another layout published in Scrapbook News and Review (the online magazine) which comes out today I believe. It is one of my paper layouts of my sister and I dressed alike for a wedding we were in in the 1970's. The outfits were so hilarious but I am sure that we thought they were awesome when we wore them.

Well the Tropical Storm Hanna flew through here yesterday and we survived. The power didn't even go out which surprised me but we always seem to be missed a little by these things. We did get alot of rain and the pool overflowed but all in all it was okay.

Wow A Month!!

Wow that is all I can say to the fact that I haven't put a post on my blog in so long. My dad's illness and going back to work full time has really put a crunch in my blogging. Shoot! in all my internet time.
I really need to keep people that care about me and my family up to date more so they don't worry.
So #1 my Dad is doing quite well considering all the chemo, radiation and steroids that he is doing right now. He has his personality and memory back for the time being and they gave him a little bit better prognosis if he did the treatments so that is the good part. Of course, we know the bad part that all that they are doing will not get rid of our cure this type of cancer so all it is giving him is TIME. Time is really all there is isn't it? Either you have it or you don't. So since I currently have time I am going to make the most of it.
Heather is doing well and I really don't see her that much which I must remedy soon as I miss her. I put in a call to her and plan to get up with her even if it for lunch some weekend.
Eric and Andrew are getting ready to start college this Wednesday. Andrew for the first time and I know that he will be nervous but I need to break the reins and let him grow so I will try to not be overbearing on his college stuff. Eric has been offered a salaried position at the NorthBay education camp that he currently works for so he is ecstatic about that. Which means healthcare and tuition reimbursement I hope.
My husband is his usual wonderful self and I love him to death just wish that he and I were on more of the same time schedules. He is a morning person and I am a night one. But I am trying.

Long Weekend

Well my weekend didn't go as planned. Bad news about my stepdad and the prognosis isn't good so I spent the weekend plus Monday and Tuesday at my parents place and the hospital. I won't go into personal details it just is very bad.

On a nicer subject, I ordered this huge book called "Digital & Hybrid Scrapbooking with Photoshop Elements" and I must say the instructions in here are very clear and precise. I can't wait to find some time to put some of the things to use.

Brenda from Millstream Cottage Designs has a great new kit called "The Dragon in Nick's Pocket". I can't wait to make some layouts using the papers in this kit. The colors are very boy friendly and since I have boys it will work great. Check out her blog at the link to the right. She is a great designer. I will post some layouts as soon as I can.

Wow it is only Tues night and already I am wishing the week away. I know that my dear husband is going away for the weekend and it will be just me and the boys. How fun! I hope to get some scrapbooking done and definitely work on finishing moving all the scrapbooking things back upstairs to the room. I have curtains to hang and some furniture and supplies to still move up from the basement but at least now that the a/c is working again I will be cooler.
Isn't it funny how dependent we are on things like air conditioning, driving our cars and cell phones. Wow, when I was my kids ages we didn't have any of those things and didn't care what the next person had that was better than yours. Ok maybe I cared if someone had the Barbie house and I didn't but I still had fun. Ok now I have really dated myself I think I will log off. I certainly hope to work on some new layouts so that I can post them this weekend. I also see a movie in my future weekend too. I seriously need to see the Sex in the City movie so I can know what happens to those NY girls.

Wow where has the summer gone already! We celebrated the 4th quietly at home but did take a short trip to town to see the fireworks. Andrew is the only child home right now. With Heather moved out and Eric working/living at the summer camp it is pretty quiet here.
Today Andrew has work later but we are just hanging out. I have been working on moving all my scrapbook stuff from the Scrap Dungeon to the room that is now empty from Heather moving out. What a chore!! You just don't realize how much stuff you have being a paper scrapbooker, digital is so much easier.
Mostly I have been working to get a stupid burr/splinter out of the bottom of my husband's foot. He walks around in his bare feet alot so they are very tough but he isn't so it is proving to be a challenge. MEN! What a pain, literally! Luckily he doesn't read my blog.
So I need to go move my 6 foot table from the basement up two flights of steps and I can't get that done until I get that thing out of his foot as I can't carry the table myself as it is very heavy.
So I leave you with a little request for some prayers for my Dad, he is stuggling with some unknown medical issues right now and he could use all the help he can get.

Well I realized I hadn't been on my blog for quite awhile with all I had going on here. I am just hanging at home today as yesterday was really busy and extremely warm. I have been really busy with the digital layouts for Brenda's CT that I am on. I love creating the digital but still can't wait for all Heather's things to be moved out so I can have my scrapbook room back.
Since Andrew graduated he purchased a laptop with his graduation money and is learning how to use it. When I get my scrapbook room done, I will take his old PC (which isn't very old) and put it in there. So I can escape doing paper or digital layouts. I hope that this all gets done by the summers end.
I will try to post some new digital layouts that I have done at the bottom of this post or in the slide show.

Soooo Busy!!!

Sorry to not have been on recently. I am so busy at home. Spent 2 weeks just helping Heather clean her new place, now I need to get mine ready for my youngest son's high school graduation party, plus I have a local Breast Cancer Walk to do on the 30th. My Mom and Aunt are both survivors and my chiropractor is also. So I walk for them and for my health.
Well some good news is that I got that Photoshop 6.0 digital layout software that I have been wanting. I am seriously enjoying the digital layouts when I don't have time at night to dig out the paper stuff I can just come to the computer and at least keep my creativeness working. Along that line one of the message boards (one for digital scrappers) had a designer looking for people to be on her Creative Team to use her designs and create digital layouts to show online as a means to sell her work. Well I got picked to be on her team. Her name is Brenda from Digital Creations from Millstream Cottage.

Cinco de Mayo

Well May 5th may be Cinco de Mayo but it is also daughter's settlement day. I can't believe it is finally here. I am on my way to getting my scrapbook room back but better yet my daughter is on her way to becoming a homeowner and an independent woman. She has saved for this and I feel that we have taught her something about saving and being careful what you spend your money on. Oh but of course she does have a weakness for shopping but she always comes home and says how much she saved on her purchases or what coupons she used to get it.
I am looking forward to helping her clean her new townhouse and with purchasing/decorating it to see what she does with all the furniture we have saved for her. It may all be hand me downs now but she says she doesn't care. She says when she has money for something new she will get it bit by bit.
Next is Andrew's graduation in June and all my children will be done high school. I may not have cried with the other two but I know that I will with Andrew as this has been a long and hard road to graduation. Filled with many nights of checking homeworks, punishments for not doing homeworks, retaking tests and staying after school to redo work. I really hope that he appreciates all that we have done to get him there as if we hadn't assisted, he wouldn't be graduating.

So my Scrap-A-Latte.net friend "Ninja Jen" has tagged me to write 7 WEIRD/UNUSUAL things you may not know about me. Hmmm...don't mind doing the tag but unfortunately I am not as popular as Jen and I don't know 7 other people to tag. But I will at least answer the tag.

1. I like to enter contests. The thrill of winning anything. It could be a key chain or a big trip, anything. I once entered a Frito-Lay contest and won a trip to Las Vegas to drive a real race car around a track at over 130mph. Yes, my Mother & I went and we did drive many many laps around a real track. I have the pictures to prove it too. Talk about a thrill but never again. I was never so scared in my whole life.

2. I love peanut butter and mostly with chocolate.

3. I am not athletic.

4. I have learned I am afraid of heights ever since I went to the Grand Canyon.

5. I love Caramel Latte's. ALOT!!!

6. I love to watch movies and especially ones of the futuristic type of science fiction mostly. Think Star Trek, Star Wars etc.

7. The youngest of my children is graduating high school this June.

I am so excited for my daughter Heather. She has been living at home since graduating college and getting a teaching job. So today she signed a contract on a townhouse very close to her work. I think I am more excited than she is. For one, I can finally move my scrapbook room that I so generously moved to the basement back up into the light of the highly anticipated soon to be vacant bedroom. If the seller's sign the contract this weekend (they are all the way in Florida and we are in Maryland) then on Monday she will have be under contract and on her way to owning her first home.
I cannot wait to help her with picking out furniture, moving, painting, and basically emptying my basement of all things we have been saving for her. I can't believe how much stuff is down there.
That is my great news for this week.
The bad news was last weekend my oldest son was in a car accident. He or anyone else wasn't hurt so that is the important thing and cars can be fixed. I am so proud (at least at this moment!) he is going to try to repair it himself. We shall see how that turns out. He has never been the car mechanic type but I give him props for attempting it.
So sorry for not having added to my blog but things have been hectic at our house. I got that nasty stomach bug at the same time that I broke my right pinkie toe! Talk about hurt. Its been 3 weeks and is just starting to feel better. Though there is the occasional time where I turn wrong and it still hurts. I am so silly as that immovable hand weight on the floor was there for weeks and I knew it but still my toe ran into it when I wasn't looking. I swear everytime I start an exercise program something happens to me. I think I subconsiously do it as I hate exercising. Do you think that works?
Well have a wonderful weekend and hope that it is getting Spring where you are. It isn't great here yet but getting there.

Daylight Savings Time

I was alot harder to get up this morning for DST than I thought. I knew I should have gone to bed at 11pm instead of 12. I was up at 6am yesterday which was really 7am so I could have gone to bed at 11pm with no problem but I didn't.
I don't mind when we spring forward as I like the evening hours at night. I really don't like when we fall back as I hated it when I left work and it was dark.
I didn't have too much trouble getting Andrew up this morning but he surely didn't like that the sun was just coming up when he was walking to the bus. He wears alot of black or dark clothes so I told him to make sure to not get run over in the morning.
Otherwise, I will deal with it.
Well the earth shaking event that happened this past week (last Tues.) was that I broke my right (of course my driving foot) pinkie toe. I was waking Andrew up for school and turned and stubbed my toe on a 3lb hand weight that shouldn't have been sitting on the floor. The worst part was that that weight had been there for awhile and I knew it. So now I have a chunk cut out of one of my favorite slippers to wear until this heals. On top of that the next day I came down with the stomach bug. Very hard to hobble quickly to the bathroom to throw up plus knealing down and getting up from the floor.
I have added at the bottom of the blog my slider with all my current layouts that I have done. It is the only place on this blog that I could put it that you could see the whole layout without it being cut off. So you will have to scroll to the bottom to see what it new.

LEAP DAY!!

Leap Day....and I have off. How much better can that get. Extra day and time for anything.
Well Andrew had his first driving instruction with the teacher. He got the female instructor so that was probably a good thing. He was so nervous she said that she had to grab the wheel twice to keep from going off the road. She probably thought that we didn't take him out at all and we accumulated 11.5 hrs at home but she says it is not enough. Before the next lesson he needs to have 20 hrs. total. OK, what am I paying for driving class for if I am the one teaching all the driving. You'd think $324.00! amounts to more time on their end for the driving part but NO!! Sorry Vent Over!
So this afternoon when he gets home from school (if he is not feeling too bad) we will take a drive to the pharmacy to pickup the pictures that I ordered. I really don't want to take him to that busier part of town but he has to drive. I swear my whole head will be gray hair by the time he gets his license. And trust me I am pretty grey already so that is not impossible. I just hide it well, LOL!

Otherwise I am working on adding my layouts to my blog again. When I changed the background it took everything off that I had added to it. What a pain.

Little Ice, Little Snow - Our first of the winter

Well as they say we have a "weather event" happening. Not too bad with just an inch of snow and freezing rain on top but hopefully it will warm up and I won't have an issues taking Andrew to work tonight. The snow plow just came through the neighborhood so that will help. I am sure the major roads are fine. Maryland does a good job with them.

Eventful Friday

I really won't go into all the details but let's just say that daughter Heather who was leaving for a long weekend trip to visit an Army friend in St. Louis fell asleep last night and didn't get her suitcase packed, clothes washed or her shower. Needless to say this morning was full of alot of tears and me resorting to packing/washing what she needed and then she had to come home for it instead of leaving right from work for the airport. But I am glad to say that she got there on semi on time and made her flight. She forgot a few things but nothing major and I hope that she has a nice weekend.

Well I have had a nice two days without having to cook dinner. Dan took me out to dinner for Valentine's Day and I had (2) White Chocolate Espresso Martini's. That was one too many! LOL Then tonight we went out for a person who was leaving his work that I knew also from a while back. So it has been a nice two days of eating out that we haven't done in awhile.

I hope to finally do some scrapbooking this weekend as I really haven't been in the mood. Hopefully the "Love Crop" at www.scrap-a-latte.net will give me some inspiration to get something done.

Super Bowl Sunday

I really don't care about it but many people do including my husband and daughter. I would rather be scrapping but since I am not up to par today, I don't feel like doing that either. So I have been watching some of my Netflix DVD's that came on Friday. I love to watch movies and Netflix is the best thing we ever subscribed to.
I just watched Premonition with Sandra Bullock and it seriously confused me.
I was hoping to work on some more layouts but I think I used up alot of mojo on the 31 day Layout a Day Challenge that I actually did finish. So I am pleased with myself and actually filed away those layouts on Friday too which is a big accomplishment.
Well all you football fans enjoy your evening watching the Super Bowl and I will just have to see what I can find on another channel tonight.

Back from our mini vacation

Well we are home from our 4 day whirlwind trip to Vegas, San Francisco and Napa Valley. I say whirlwind because we did only went for 4 days which had 3 hotels stays, 4 plane rides, lots of rain in California, lots of wine on the limo wine tour but it was a great time. I just wish that we had more time and the weather had been better in California. They are experiencing a lot of rain/flooding right now and we caught the beginning of it. It was all worth it to spend time with good friends and enjoy some of those moments that we all deserve.
I will post some pics as soon as I download them. It was hard to take pictures as it was raining so much and the beautiful landscape shots weren't there to see.
Well at least I crossed off another item on my Bucket List as they say and that was to go to California. I still want to go to Los Angeles/Hollywood area as my love of all things movie related draws me there.

Thursday is my Friday

So here is the SAL Blog Challenge question:
So your challenge this week is to blog about your favorite childhood toys, when you received them, how long you had them and why they were your favorites.

Well as I am not that young of a person and remembering these things is tough. I would have to say that my favorite thing was my Barbie's. My sister and I used to make cardboard beds and Grandmom used to sew us little clothes and pillow etc for our pretend houses we would do. We would play for hours with our handmade stuff for the Barbie's. Back in those days you didn't have the huge plastic houses they do now and you would use whatever you could find in the house to make a bed or a table. It made me think creatively even back then. Sadly I do not have any of those Barbie's anymore. Maybe my sister has them, not sure. Thanks Carla for letting me go back in memory lane for these great times.

Well Thursday is my Friday as I don't work on Fridays and enjoy the whole day off. Since it snowed today it will probably be a stay in the house kind of day.

Wicked Wednesday

Well, it is finally getting cold here and we may actually get a snow flurry or two. But it will just be cold for a few days and then come Tues next week I will be on my way with Dan and 2 other couples for our quick whirlwind of a trip to Las Vegas, San Francisco and then Napa Valley for some wine tasting. It is only a 4 day trip so when I say whirlwind, I mean it! But it is a trip without the kids and our friends are the best and we are looking forward to it. To get ready for this trip we watched the DVD that our son Eric got us for Christmas, "Sideways". If you have ever seen this movie, it is a hoot. Such a spoof on the whole wine tasting thing in Napa Valley.

I finally got over my cold pretty much and the Zicam did help to shorten and lessen the cold.

I am still hanging in there on the "Layout A Day" challenge and am up to 16 layouts done for this month. It is so empowering to realize that you don't think that much and just do it. Use up those precious supplies you have been coveting and just make the layout. I am really glad that I signed up for it. Along with that I did a weekend online crop at Scrap-A-Latte.net and am in the middle of an all week online crop at Cropperscottage.net. Now these have been harder to get to but it is all good in the long run.

My daughter is starting to think about starting to look at moving out and getting her own place. She has been looking at real estate online and has contacted a realtor for a townhouse that she would like to look at. She also has to get pre-qualified and has never done that before so she actually filled out an online form tonight. I was impressed that she actually did it. She is thinking of looking at the place this weekend. She is 25 yrs old and is a 7th grade math teacher so it is time to move on. If she finally moves out, I get my Scrapbook Room BACK!!!!!! How exciting is that. I get to move out of the basement Scrap Dungeon. I actually think I will put the name on the door of my room to remind me.

Now the only other thing I need to figure out on this blog thing is how to get my layouts to show up so that you can see them all at one time. Must work on that this week. So if anyone has any advice, please let me know.

Busy Wednesday

Besides the middle of the week, it was just an extremely busy day at work and home. Running Andrew to work and then home to do my layout a day has me just crazy.

So I think I will take a few deep breaths and try to relax a bit before jumping in housework and scrapbooking. So with the writer's strike, the new shows that I am waiting for obviously will not be starting right away, like LOST and 24. I will just have to watch the reality shows or HGTV. Not that I watch alot of tv but I do have my favs. So as we recap last year, what were your fav new shows? My boys and I are totally enamored with "Heroes". We can't get enough of it. I liked a new show about a lawyer for a wealthy family but the name escapes me, guess I didn't like it as much as I thought. With the holidays and the writers strike, I am at a loss to remember them but I know that I did have a few that were really good.
So did you see the new National Treasure movie? IT WAS EXCELLENT!! If you liked the first one you won't be disappointed with this one. I am a huge movie fan and love to see them on the big screen as much as possible.
Well except for the fact that I am getting another cold due to this warm weather trend at the moment, that is about all I know for today. I mean what gives 70 degree weather in MD in mid January!? That is just crazy.

It is all good today now that I got some sleep. I took so much sinus medicine on Sunday then I did not sleep a wink on Sun. night. So Monday was a very bad day. I still managed to get my Day 7 layout done for Big Picture Scrapbooking "Get a LOAD of this" challenge though it was hard. Taking a nap helped.
We leave for California small vacation trip on the 22nd of this month and I am starting to feel a sore throat coming on so I'd better not get sick again. The last cold was the worst ever. So I am Zicam'ing it up and hope to stave it off.
So pretty boring for me today so I will just end and hope your day is great.

My first Blog Challenge

Well my regular scrapbooking message board Scrap-A-Latte.net issued a Blog Challenge to post about family/friend that you feel you must talk to everyday by phone or in person or your day isn't complete. Not via email or pm.

This is my first blog challenge and of course I really don't have anyone that I talk to on the phone or in person except maybe my friend and boss Frank. We have this ritual that when he first walks in the door we recap weekend events, evening events both personal and company wise so I guess that would be someone that I talk to everyday.

If I could wish this I would talk to my Mom everyday on the phone as she is my best friend and I so miss that she isn't closer by so we can do things together. When she is at home in Delaware she is still 2 hrs from me and then during the winter she is a snowbird and her and Pop move to Florida till May. I do email her everyday instead of phoning. The main reason that I made my blog was to have a means for her to read more about my day to day events that I know she loves to hear about.
So that is my first blog challenge and I guess I did okay.
I want to add this layout that I did for the challenge we are all in at Big Picture Scrapbooking so that my Mom can see one of the layouts from the trip to FL last Jan. Hope you like it Mom.

Last of the short weeks!

Well this is the last of the short weeks for a while. I am going to relish the stay at home type of weekend. I am almost done putting away the Christmas decorations. I will finish tomorrow and clean the house and get back to order with things.

I have been doing "Big Picture Scrapbooking - Get a LOAD of This!" challenge to do a layout a day for 31 days of January. Boy is this a hard one. You have to just scrap those pictures and not spend your hours and hours getting it just right and just get it done. We are on day 3 and I am still hanging in there. Here is my day 3 layout and it is my favorite so far. This was when the boys were just little ones and they were so adorable then.

Back to Work Day

Hope that you all had a good day today. Back to work was busy, busy. End of month billing for December, reports etc.
Have you De-Christmas'd your house yet. I am close to being done. I have everything down and on the dining room table to be put away except for the Dan's family nativity that is on the fireplace. I do NOT dare touch that piece. He puts it up and unwraps all the pieces that his Mother made and then he takes it down and wraps each piece up. It is the only Christmas decoration I have no say on either. It must go on the fireplace and that is that! It is beautiful and a family heirloom that all the other brothers & sister wish that they had bid on at the family auction once his parents passed away.
I started to write down what I am eating and weighing. I am not dieting but changing what I eat and hopefully it will be better. I planned to start walking outside but of course the weather gods decided to have freezing cold with winds in the 20-30mph range. So I guess up and down the steps a few times doing the decorations will be it tonight except for maybe some crunches.
I really want to feel better and maybe a little lighter before we leave for California on the 22nd of this month. More about the Napa Valley whirlwind of a trip on tomorrow's post.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Well Dan and I spent New Years at one of our boating friends party in Upper Upper Pennsylvania. It was an hour and 10 min. drive at 75mph as I was following another boating couple to get there. We stayed the night and had a very nice time. Of course I started the day with a slight sinus headache so by the time I went to bed I definitely wasn't feeling well and then the hostess used a very potent fabric softener that once I hit the bed and smelled it near my face I thought I was going to throw up. This lead to not alot of sleep so once I got up this morning, I took a sinus medicine and all was right with the world. We didn't get home until 2pm but it was a very nice New Years. Andrew had to work today so Dan took him at 4pm and I get the lovely pleasure to pick him up at 9:30pm. I swear I can't wait until he can drive, I think. I have already de-Christmasized the house except to put it all away. It is all sitting on my dining room table. That is all the energy I have for today. Did you take your Christmas decorations down?
Anyway, that was my New Years. How was yours?

New Year's Eve Eve

So what are you doing this New Year's Eve Eve?

DH says that my Scrap Dungeon area is quite the mess. Well it is in an unfinished basement so the whole basement is a mess. So to feel better about scrapbooking and to maybe get some mojo out of it, I decided it was time to rearrange, purge, organize and generally rethink my little square foot of area.
So I am about 3/4 of the way done and I have cleaned up the 6 foot table enough that I can't believe how much space there is on it. I have 3 bags of things that I am throwing away so far and plan to start on "the paper" next. Though I won't throw it away, I will probably give the paper that I won't ever use (that I thought I would) to my Mom as she likes to make cards.
I have been at it for hours today but I do feel better and feel like I want to scrapbook something later tonight. Oh yeah, it is later tonight. Well I don't have to go to work tomorrow so I can stay up late.
What made the night even better is that DH has finished the new faucet in the powder room (I think) and he went to pick up Andrew from work. Now I can get back to my cleaning/purging/organizing mess.

Well today I ran out and used the gift card at the LSS (which really isn't close but it's the only one I know of) I got for Christmas. I really like this store and can spend hours and hours there, which I did. I had a gift card for $20 plus they were having 20% off of everything in the store so it was a good day to go. I got a calendar to do for the house to put pictures on it of the family. I am excited to work on that tonight.
I also have a gift certificate for my favorite online store Scrap-A-Latte.net. I will be spending that one today also.
Well I'd better get down to the dungeon and get to work.

My New Year's Resolution a bit early

Well I am starting my New Year's Resolution a bit early. I wanted to start my own blog so I jumped right in today and here it is. A bit basic right now but as I learn I hope it will get better. So what are your "Scrapbooking" New Year's Resolutions?
Here are mine.
1. Start a Blog (X Done)
2. Move my scrapbook room from the Scrap Dungeon of a basement into the light (upstairs)
3. Get a great organized Ikea bookshelf w/baskets for that new scrapbook room
4. Get my layouts into albums (X Done)
5. Finish my wedding album (I have been married 21 yrs, must get done soon)
6. Finish my Mexico vacation album (very doable already started)
7. File old photos that were glued in albums before they disintegrate further.
8. Keep my new blog updated with new layouts etc.

Oh and the first person to place a comment and tell me how to get my Blog Title across the top of my blog gets a cool RAK from me.
